The Electron 54 was designed specifically for DS, although its quite at home on the front. It is very responsive and especially pitch sensative, which allows it to bang a very hard turn. So much so, at around 120mph (est) while DSing, it was near impossible to see it turn. It seemed to just change direction like a rubber ball bouncing off a wall. Very impressive. Its roll rate is excellent and quite axial.
I have found no bad tendencies what so ever in this plane and its the fastest thing around. I have not had any problems with flutter as yet, although elevon twist at high speed (175 kph measured) is now becoming an issue. Its time to glass the elevons.
The Electron 54 really is an awesome speed machine that is very well behaved in all conditions when set up correctly.
Setup details are as follows:
- Elevon mixing: Elevator 25%; Aileron 55%
- Exponential: 50% on Aileron only
- COG: 62mm behind the leading edge at the root
- Weight: 1085g (1450g with full ballast)
Cant wait to build the 60" version. Also coming soon.
