RCRCM TyphoonThe Typhoon (this one is the single carbon version) is one of the latest performance slopers to hit the market. Andrew at Falcon Gliders was quick to put this promising new plane on his extensive list of performance gliders.
It comes complete with elevator and rudder linkages installed, together with all control horns fitted, with the remainder of the installation being very straight forward. In addition, the nose cone and servo tray have been constructed from kevlar, making it 2.4Gz friendly.
The Typhoon is a versatile slope plane that will fly in low and high wind using its ballast facilities, and will even do some light DS up to around 150mph completely stock. I have already done 133 mph clocked with a radar gun and it flew superbly.
The roll rate is incredible for a 2m wingspan plane, with very axial rolls and excellent, crisp aileron authority throughout the speed range. It flies nicely when on step and retains its energy very well through turns.
However, the best attribute of this plane (yes it gets better) is the awesome control you have during crow landings. With 85 degree flaps, it will decend perfectly on a 45 degree decline into a hover before touchdown with ease.

The Typhoon DS's very nicely, being very stable in the groove and surprisingly resistant to turbulence once over 100mph. A big thanks to Paul Gauci for the beautiful photos.
